Our Mission

Enabling churches and communities to thrive through equipping and releasing their God given potential, bringing hope and transformation across Ireland.

Thrive Ireland uses a process called “Umoja” which is a Swahili word meaning togetherness. Umoja is used around the world to enable church and community transformation. It enables churches to develop an understanding of community development and whole life mission, and engage with issues on their doorstep.

“The Umoja process forced us to think about the community we are part of and ask hard questions about our relevance and place. It gave structure to our conversations, grounded our discussion in Scripture and enabled us to translate conclusions into action. Identifying problems around community cohesion and isolation the ‘action’ has included developing a community newsletter and a ‘Know Your Neighbour’ initiative. The parent and toddler group has been revitalised and a ‘messy church’ for the whole family happens once a month.”
